Dr. Vemulapalli is an Associate Professor of Medicine / Cardiology and serves as the Medical Director of the Duke Echo Lab and Cardiac Diagnostic Unit as well as the leader of the Interventional Echocardiography group. He has significant experience with real world evidence generation, and research on medical devices in both structural heart disease and peripheral vascular disease. He currently serves as the PI of the STS / ACC Transcatheter Valve Therapies Registry analytic center at the DCRI as well as multiple NHLBI-funded clinical registries and trials. His current research interests include methods for linkages of claims and EHR data with clinical registries, and the application of machine learning techniques to cardiac imaging and clinical trials.
