Dr. Marco V. Wainstein is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Cardiology Division of Hospital de Clinicas de Porto Alegre, affiliated to the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. He also serves as Chief of Interventional Cardiology both at Hospital de Clinicas as well as at Hospital Moinhos de Vento. His main research interest includes infflammatory aspects of coronary artery disease, plaque vulnerability and risk stratification of acute myocardial infarction. He leads a program of complex and high risk coronary interventions focusing in bifurcation techniques and calcium modification.
