Dr. Rommel is an assistant Professor at University of Mainz, Germany. He is an interventional cardiologist and heart failure specilaist at the Univeristy Medical Center in Mainz, Germany. Fascinated by the goal of innovation-driven, physiology-guided interventions in heart failure, he has spent time as a visiting research scholar at the Cardiovascular Research Foundation in New York City under the mentorship of Prof. Daniel Burkhoff. He aspires to translate the vision of interventional heart failure therapies into clinical practice.
