Dr. Pandis received his basic training in general and cardiothoracic surgery at Imperial College, followed by a clinical fellowship at the Royal Barts and the London before moving to John Radcliff hospital in Oxford, UK. Prior to commencing formal cardiothoracic surgery training, Dr. Pandis spent one year in Hammersmith hospital's imaging core lab where he trained in advanced imaging modalities for valvular heart disease and ventricular remodeling. His MSci thesis focused on abnormal LV strain patterns in asymptomatic patients with chronic degenerative mitral regurgitation and preserved LV. After moving to the U.S., Dr Pandis' work focused on advanced non-invasive methods to identify subclinical alterations in left ventricular myocardial structure and abnormal flow dynamics in patients with valvular heart disease.
