Stephen Ellis, M.D. is the Director of Interventional Cardiology, Senior Academic Officer at the Cleveland Clinic. He received his M.D. degree from UCLA and received subsequent training at Cedars Sinai, Los Angeles, The Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Stanford University and Emory University. He is a practicing interventional cardiologist specializing in the treatment of complex or high-risk patients and clinical trials. He has served as National Principal or Co-Principle Investigator for 15 randomized trials. As of 2024 Dr. Ellis has authored over 1100 papers or abstracts, and is widely considered to be an international authority on coronary stents, the assessment of outcomes after intervention, and novel therapeutic approaches to coronary artery disease. Recent research has focused on identifying patients with stable ischemic cardiomyopathy who might benefit from PCI and uses of AI in cardiology.
