Dr. Ashwani “Ash” Sastry is an interventional cardiologist with extensive experience in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease, critical limb ischemia, and venous disease. He completed his cardiology training at the Duke University Medical Center and a fellowship in interventional cardiology and endovascular intervention at New York Presbyterian - Columbia University. He returned to Duke University as faculty where he taught interventional cardiology trainees at the Duke University Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. He has worked with the FDA office of device evaluation in providing advice and recommendations on the safety and effectiveness of novel vascular and cardiac devices. His primary research interests are in development of medical devices for treatment of critical limb ischemia and peripheral vascular disease, and he holds multiple patents in these areas.
