Dr. Shaikh is the current CHIP-CTO Fellow at University Hospitals of Cleveland Harrington Heart and Vascular Institute. Originally a professional jazz saxophonist, Dr. Shaikh attended undergraduate at the Jazz and Contemporary and Musc Program at the New School in downtown NYC majoring in jazz saxophone performance. After several years of working as an artist in the New York jazz scene, he then received a Master's Degree in Social Work from New York University. From there he changed his professional focus to medicine and earned an MD at the Case Western Reserve Univerity School of Medicine where he completed his internal medicine residency. He then completed a cardiovascular disease fellowship at Maine Medical Center and then went on to complete an Interventional Cardiology fellowship at the Lahey Clinic in Massachusetts. He is now a CHIP-CTO fellow.
