Dr. Nina Shyama Appareddy is a Cardiology fellow at UCHealth Parkview Medical Center. She was born in Providence, RI and grew up in Chattanooga, TN. She majored in Anthropology and Human Biology at Emory University and then worked as a regional coordinator for a non-profit in Birmingham, AL. She attended Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University, where she was awarded the Paul F. Dishner and Robert T. Bowers scholarships and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. During her internship, she was voted Outstanding Intern of the Year by the internal medicine clerkship students. She is passionate about social determinants of health and health equity. During her free time, she enjoys traveling, skiing, and hiking with her dogs, Sage and Jasmine.
