Joachim Weil is the Director of the Cardiovascular Center at Sana Hospital in Lübeck, Germany, and a Professor of Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the University of Lübeck. He earned his MD from the University of Freiburg and the University of Michigan in 1991. After training as a Pharmacologist at the University of Hamburg, he became an Associate Professor in 1999. Dr. Weil completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of Regensburg, specializing in Internal Medicine and Cardiology in 2004. He chaired the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Sana Clinic from 2013 onward. Dr. Weil pioneered clinical trials on renal denervation. He has served as Vice-Chairman of the German Society of Hypertension and is a board member of the Association of Leading Clinical Cardiologists and Chair of the ESH working group on Hypertension.
