Dr John Puskas is the Wilton D. Looney endowed Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Emory University and Director of the Emory Carlyle Fraser Heart Center. Dr Puskas was recruited back to Emory from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, where he was Professor and Chairman of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital from 2014 to 2024. Dr Puskas is cofounder and director of the International Coronary Congress and the International Society for Coronary Artery Surgery and Past president of the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery. He is a renowned thought leader in advanced coronary revascularization by all arterial, robotic and off pump techniques. His most recent innovation involves extensive endarterectomy/stentectomy to treat full metal jacket/in-stent restenosis in patients with no other therapeutic options.
