Pranav M. Patel, MD is the Chief of the Mary and Steve Wen Cardiovascular Division at the University of California, Irvine. He has served as past President of the California ACC and as the current President of the Orange County American Heart Association. He is a Clinical Professor of Medicine and Adjunct Professor of Biomedical Engineering at UC Irvine. He is the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at UCI Medical Center and current Director Interventional Cardiology fellowship programs at UC Irvine.

Dr. Patel's research focuses on intravascular imaging and atherosclerotic heart disease. His research team integrates intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), optical coherence tomography (OCT), photoacoustic tomography (PAT), and acoustic radiation force optical coherence elastography (ARF-OCE). He also participates in clinical research involving CAD and structural heart disease
