Dr. Kaneko received his medical degree from Keio University School of Medicine in Tokyo. He completed a cardiothoracic surgery residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He also completed an interventional fellowship at BWH and is cross-trained in interventional cardiology. He’s the Division Director of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Washington University in St. Louis and is the Evarts A Graham Professor of Surgery.
He specializes in Transcatheter and minimally invasive valvular surgery, including transcatheter aortic valve replacements, transcatheter mitral/tricuspid interventions, and robotic/minimally invasive valve surgeries. He is the national Principal Investigator for the 3 Transcatheter trials, JOURNEY, ATLAS, and NAVIGATE, and is a reviewer for over 15 journals. He has published over 250 manuscripts and has written over 10 book chapters.
