Martin S. Maron, MD is Director of the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Center at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center and is an internationally recognized expert and leader in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He has an interest and expertise in virtually all aspects of HCM, is responsible for defining MRI imaging in this disease and novel drug therapies, presently as the principal investigator for the new aficamten myosin inhibitor initiative. Dr. Maron has been a prolific and important clinical investigator, redefining HCM as a treatable disease compatible with normal longevity publishing over 250 peer-reviewed papers in the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, Circulation, and JACC. He was also recognized as “HCM Physician of the Year” in 2011 by the national patient organization (HCMA) and has been named a Boston Magazine “Top Doctor” since 2017.
