Dr Ramzi Khamis is a consultant interventional cardiologist and the Clinical Director of Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He holds a joint academic appointment as a Reader at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. He is also the clinical lead for the high risk atherosclerosis and cardio immune clinic at Imperial.
His main interests are identification of the rupture prone plaque using near infra-red( NIRF) moelcular imaging, as well as identifiying patients at risk using novel assays. His work straddeles transaltional interventional cardiology. He also developped remote monitoring ptorcotls for high risk patients and PI on both the TELE-ACS and TELE-TAVI studies.
