Dr. Bapat is Chief of Cariothoracic Surgery at the Abbott Northwestern & United Hospital and Minneapolis Heart Institute. He was Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgeyr at the Columiba University Medical Center from May 2017- June 2020. Prior to that he worked as a Professor of Cardiac surgery at the Guys and St. Thomas’ Hospital, London from 2007-2017 and currently is Honorary Professor at the same institution. He developed trans-aortic approach for TAVI and is an authority on the subject of valve-in-valve and has developed smartphone Apps which are used all over the world. Dr. Bapat has trained over 100 centres in TAVI all over the world. He has published widely and is an invited faculty for all major cardiology and cardiac surgical meeting. Dr. Bapat is well known for his pioneering work in TMVR, MAC open and hybrid aproaches, TTVR and also complex valve surgery.
