Moritz C. Wyler von Ballmoos, MD, PhD, MPH is a Professor of Cardiac Surgery at the Burnett School of Medicine at TCU, the System Chair of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery and the Executive Chair for the Heart & Vascular Service Line of Texas Health Resources. He is an international contributor and thought leader in managing valvular heart disease, mitral valve repair, atrial fibrillation, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, transcatheter therapies, and quality improvement. Dr. Wyler von Ballmoos has contributed to many clinical trials for structural heart disease. He serves as the Chair of the STS Workforce on Evidence-Based Surgery and in multiple other leadership positions for the STS Council on Quality, Research & Patient Safety overseeing the STS National Database and its quality efforts. He is also on the leadership board of the ACC Surgery Team Council and a member of the EACTS Mitral & Tricuspid Workforce.
