Dr. Widmer has spent the last 6 years on staff at Baylor Scott and White as an interventional/structural cardiologist, being recently propomoted to Clinical Associate Professor for the Texas A&M as well as Baylor Colleges of Medicine. He completed a combined MD/PhD at Texas A&M Health Sciences Center in 2009, and then went to Mayo Clinic for internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, and interventional/structural cardiology. Dr. Widmer has continued his research interests which includes vascular biology, coronary physiology, cardiovascular outcomes/prevention, social media, and digital health while being senior faculty at Baylor Scott and White while becoming site principle investigator on multiple national clinical trials. He serves as the medical director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory as well as for clinical research for Baylor Scott and White Health Central Texas.
