Ibrahim Sultan is the Professor and Chief of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He also serves as the Executive Vice Chair of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, and the Co-Director of the Heart and Vascular Institute. He has published over 400 peer reviewed articles and presented over 200 invited talks. He is funded by the Department of Defense, has been an investigator in multiple clinical trials and serves on the editorial boards for Circulation: Imaging, Journal for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, and Annals of Thoracic Surgery. His clinical and scholarly focus is on the thoracic aorta and structural heart therapies
