Sadia Ilyas, MD, is an assistant professor at MedStar Georgetown Department of Surgery. Dr. Ilyas received her medical degree from UMKC. She completed her general surgery residency at Wright State University. During that time, she was selected to be a clinical and research fellow at the NIH, Surgery Branch where she spent four years focusing on basic science research and translational clinical trials. She completed her surgical critical care fellowship at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and vascular surgery fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. With her dual training in critical care and vascular surgery she practices as both as a vascular surgeon and cardiovascular surgical intensivist at MHVI. She was selected as a MedStar Research Scholar starting July 2024. Her research focuses on leveraging health systems to improve the quality of vascular surgery care provided at a system level.
