Samer Najjar, MD, is the Medical Director of Advanced Heart Failure, Heart Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He is a Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University.
Dr. Najjar completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He then earned his medical degree at Yale University School of Medicine, and completed his residency and fellowship training at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Najjar specializes in state of the art therapies for heart failure. His current research interests focus on novel therapies in heart failure and on advances in mechanical circulatory support. He is widely published, with over 100 manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.
