Interventional Cardiologist

Dr. Bastiany, is an interventional cardiologist practicing in Ontario, Canada. She completed her Cardiology training at the Université de Montréal, from which she graduated with honors. Dr. Bastiany then successfully completed a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology in Alberta, making her the first Black female Canadian Interventional Cardiologist in Canada.
She developed a strong interest in community work amongst visible minorities, and worked directly with local community organizations to raise awareness around CVD. Combining her expertise in cardiovascular disease and her passion for community work, Dr. Bastiany is actively working to decrease the race and gender biases leading to differences in standard of care and clinical outcomes.
She was recently decorated with the King Charles III Coronation Medal, awarded to people who have made a significant contribution to Canada.
