Larry L. Wood’s 30-year career at Edwards Lifesciences and Baxter International has encompassed responsibility for key areas including R&D, operations, marketing, commercial, clinical and regulatory affairs. More recently, Wood led the development and introduction of a breakthrough therapy: transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Serving as corporate vice president since 2007, Wood has built a global organization that studied and introduced three generations of transcatheter aortic valves to patients around the world. To date more than 100,000 patients worldwide have received one of the Edwards SAPIEN valves which have consistently demonstrated positive clinical outcomes, cost effectiveness and improved quality of life.
